One of the pervading trends in vintage watches in the last couple of years has to be the large size, stepped case, glossy dial chronographs of the 40’s and this Lemania 15TL encapsulates just that.
Sized at 38mm, during the 1940’s this was considered a huge watch, which translates to it being very wearable by today's standards. With its stepped case and oval pushers, this is unmistakably 1940’s in its styling. This, coupled with the black glossy gilt dial featuring cathedral hands, and you get an idea of what Lemania was all about.
Lemania was one of the premier chronograph makers of the era, and housed inside this example is one of their finest, the Calibre 15TL. It is an in-house, column wheel movement that is fully gilded and lovely to use, not to mention very pleasing to the eye. In fact, while this example is a civilian version, these 15TLs were deemed good enough to be issued to the military.
