Ask any vintage chronograph collector and chances are that ‘Gallet’ will be mentioned. You see, Gallet made some of the best chronographs in the 20th century and today vintage examples are extremely sought after. From decimal chronographs to clamshell cases and yachting chronographs like the one you see here, they made a whole variety of very attractive chronographs.
The Gallet Multichron Yachting is exactly as the name implies, a chronograph made for yachting. This example is exceptionally rare and features a very exotic yachting subdial at 3 o’clock. While this version is a later Multichron Yachting, the first execution was released by Gallet in 1945 and it was the first wrist chronograph to incorporate a 45-minute recorder with a 15-10-5 regatta countdown timer for yacht racing.
Not only is vintage Gallet in demand now but any chronographs that featured yachting complications as they often came with very colourful and exotic subdials. Furthermore, what you see here today is one of the best examples in the world- in absolutely mint condition.
